1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing our website or booking a vehicle with The Drive Bureau ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. These terms apply to all customers, visitors, and users of our self-drive car rental service operating from Andheri West, Mumbai, Maharashtra.

2. Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from us, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age (25 years for luxury vehicles)
  • Hold a valid Indian Driving Licence that is at least 1 year old
  • Possess a valid Aadhaar card or government-issued photo ID
  • Provide a valid mobile number and emergency contact
  • Not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that impairs driving ability

We reserve the right to refuse rental to anyone who does not meet these criteria at our sole discretion.

3. Booking & Confirmation

All bookings are subject to vehicle availability and are confirmed only after:

  • Successful KYC verification (driving licence + Aadhaar + selfie)
  • Collection or confirmation of the refundable security deposit
  • Full payment of the rental amount
  • Explicit written confirmation from The Drive Bureau via WhatsApp or phone

A booking enquiry submitted via our website or WhatsApp does not constitute a confirmed booking. Your booking is only confirmed once you receive a written confirmation message from us.

4. Rental Rates & Payments

All rental rates displayed are per hour excluding petrol. The minimum rental duration is 12 hours. Additional charges may apply for:

  • Extra kilometres beyond the agreed limit
  • Late returns (charged per hour)
  • Additional drivers (must be pre-approved)
  • Outstation trips (subject to prior approval and additional charges)
  • Tolls, parking charges, and traffic fines incurred during the rental

Accepted payment methods include UPI, credit/debit cards, and net banking. All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

5. Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit is collected before every rental. The deposit amount varies based on the vehicle category:

  • Hatchbacks (WagonR, Swift): ₹2,000 – ₹3,000
  • MUV / Compact SUV (Ertiga, Sonet): ₹3,000 – ₹5,000
  • SUV (Scorpio): ₹5,000 – ₹7,000
  • Luxury (Audi, BMW): ₹10,000 – ₹15,000

The deposit will be refunded within 24–48 hours of vehicle return, subject to a satisfactory inspection. Deductions may be made for damages, fines, missing fuel, or policy violations.

6. Vehicle Use & Restrictions

By renting a vehicle, you agree to:

  • Return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at pickup
  • Not smoke inside the vehicle (₹2,000 fine applies)
  • Not carry more passengers than the vehicle's seating capacity
  • Not use the vehicle for commercial purposes, racing, or off-road driving
  • Not allow any unlisted driver to operate the vehicle
  • Comply with all traffic laws, rules, and regulations
  • Return the vehicle at the agreed time and location
  • Not transport illegal goods or substances

Outstation travel outside Mumbai requires prior written approval. Driving to specific states may be restricted — please confirm at the time of booking.

7. Accidents & Damage

In the event of an accident or damage:

  • You must immediately notify The Drive Bureau at +91 98765 43210
  • You must file a police FIR if required
  • You must not leave the scene without completing necessary formalities
  • Insurance deductible or full repair cost may apply depending on the circumstances
  • Damage caused due to negligence, driving under the influence, or policy violation is fully customer's liability

A full vehicle inspection is conducted at both pickup and return. Any damage not noted at pickup will be charged to the customer.

8. Insurance

All vehicles are covered by standard third-party insurance as required by Indian law. Comprehensive insurance is included, subject to an insurance deductible as per the policy terms. Insurance does not cover:

  • Damage caused by driving under the influence
  • Damage caused by violation of these terms
  • Loss of personal belongings inside the vehicle
  • Mechanical damage due to improper use

9. Roadside Assistance

We provide 24/7 roadside assistance for breakdowns within Mumbai and nearby areas. In case of a breakdown, contact us immediately at +91 98765 43210. We will make best efforts to provide a replacement vehicle or arrange repairs. Response time may vary based on location and availability.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Drive Bureau shall not be liable for:

  • Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings left in the vehicle
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from vehicle use
  • Delays caused by traffic, weather, or circumstances beyond our control
  • Any third-party claims arising from the renter's use of the vehicle

Our maximum liability in any case shall not exceed the rental amount paid for that specific booking.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra. These terms comply with the Indian Contract Act 1872, Consumer Protection Act 2019, and applicable Motor Vehicles Act provisions.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
